Solving for X - Poster Assignment

Draw a balance scale. Add various shapes on both sides of the scale. Since the scale is balanced, solve for X by removing variables until X is by itself. Write the answer on the back of your puzzle. For example, X = 2h - s. You may also create a key with numbers for each of the variables, except X (leave that for the class to solve).
When solving, if there are no variables left on one side to subtract, then there will be a negative version of that variable (like a bill making someone in debt). For example, if you subtract two variables from the left side but there is only one on the right, then the right side would have a negative variable. See the example with the Star (S).
